Sounds of Swing

The Sounds of Swing is a 17-piece big band dedicated to spreading the gospel of big band music thoughout the East Texas area. Since 1992, the band has won many fans while performing from Paris, Texas, to De Ridder, Lousiana, and from Bossier City, Lousiana, to Dallas, Austin and College Station, Texas -- plus many points in between.

Headquartered in Carthage, Texas, members of the band hail
from several East Texas cities, and include band directors, doctors, lawyers, and teachers, all intent on reviving the great big band arrangements of such well known orchestras as Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, and others. The group plays concerts, dances, and festivals within a 200-mile radius of the Ark-La-Tex area, and a growing number of fans - from Nacogdoches to Paris, from Shreveport to Tyler - often drive many miles to attend the band's performances.

From private parties, ballroom-dance-club appearances, and wedding receptions to public concerts, our performances run the gamut -- but we're always looking for new venues.
